A rare solo show with Nick Bullock! For the past eight years Nick has crisscrossed the country on tour with his Ithaca-based band, Revision, playing over one hundred and fifty shows a year. Nick's East Coast upbringing has indelibly stamped his musical style, evident in everything from his New York City lyrics to his North Carolina picking. Nicks story? Guy meets guitar, guy falls for guitar, guy marries guitar. somewhere along the line guy gets disenfranchised with his marriage. Guy meets songs, guy falls for songs, rendezvousing at mysterious and smoky clubs late at night. Guitar confronts guy about his affair with songs... at the end of the day, guy, guitar and songs realize this will work out just fine for all three of them.

The Common Railers sound ranges from more traditional folk and bluegrass, to singer-songwriter, pop and americana. Songwriting is shared by guitarist Peter Glanville and mandolin, banjo and accordion player Gordon Rowland, who often collaborate on the band's original material. Upright bassist Mike Costello and drummer Shane Hartman add intricate grooves to the bands original material. You can often hear Chad Crumm's soaring fiddle lines or funky banjo solos adding the finishing touches to the songs.

From tea to smoothies to whiskey, local writers will read short pieces, both fiction and non-fiction, exploring the themes of what we drink, how we drink and who we drink with. Authors will include Leslie Daniels (Cleaning Nabokov's House), Rebecca Barry, (Later, at the Bar), Ellen Hartman (Calling the Shots; Plan B: Boyfriend), Rachel Dickinson (Falconer on the Edge: A man, his birds and the vanishing landscape of the American West), and Amelia Sauter (cocktail columnist for The Ithaca Post).

The Writers' Cafe is curated by Leslie Daniels. Felicia's will offer a specialty menu of "writers' cocktails" for the event including the Hemingway Daiquiri, Irish Coffee, and housemade Chai.
